James and Ashley Roeder were recently put on trial for the burglary of a Jefferson County warehouse in Kentucky. The two were incarcerated separately, and as such, James was not able to be present for the birth of his son, whom Ashley had been carrying at the time of the burglary. Judge Amber Wolf explained to a local news source, ‘I saw [Ashley] try to hold the baby up when [James] came out for his case to be called with his attorney. It occurred to me after we finished this case that he had not met his baby — who was 30 days old — and that he was not going to get an opportunity to meet his baby anytime in the near future.’
