The recent floods in the state of Louisiana have been some of the worst on record since the catastrophic Hurricane Sandy. In the span of only a few hours, enough water fell that cars were swept away, streets were flooded, and homes were destroyed.

For those living in the area affected by the floods, it has been a very difficult, challenging time. The decision to vacate your family home and abandon your possessions is not an easy one to make, although in this instance, it has become necessary for the safety and well-being of all those involved.

In the hurry to evacuate and reach safety, not everything is able to be brought along, and people must decide what few things they will carry with them. Sometimes, beloved family pets are lost amidst the great rush to get out of danger.

While the loss of a family pet can be heartbreaking, one Louisiana resident would not be deterred from returning to his home to try and rescue his dogs. He drove back to his flooded home in an attempt to rescue a litter of Dachshund puppies, but was then faced with the dilemma: how to transport all the dogs to safety? It's one thing to carry a single pet in your arms across a flooded street. It's another to attempt to relocate an entire litter of puppies!

Well, this man comes up with quite a creative method for moving the dogs, and we're happy to report, he got all the puppies to safety!
